September Studio Times

3–5 minutes

We would like to welcome all of our new and returning students and parents to our 16th season of dance at Rhythm ‘n Motion! We know it’s going to be sweeter than ever! Our staff is here to provide your children with the best dance education possible. Whether their dreams are to be a professional ballerina, a Rockette, or a brain surgeon, our team of instructors is dedicated to enriching our students lives through the love of dance. Together, we will celebrate progress, embrace hard work, and strive for excellence both in and out of the studio.

Housekeeping Reminders

  • Please use the parking spaces in the parking lot and do not park your vehicle in front of the studio. This helps the students to see if there are cars coming in from the door step.
  • Dancers, please place all belongings neatly in the cubbies under the benches or on the hooks above. Dance bags and shoes should not be kept on top of the benches. Please keep the benches available for students to sit and change their shoes.
  • Street shoes should NEVER be worn on the Marley dance floors in the classrooms. This helps keep the floors clean and safe for our dancers. Hip hop students, please DO NOT wear your hip hop class shoes outside so we can keep dirt and debris off the dance floor.

With your help, we can make this dance year rewarding for everyone. Thank you!

Bring A Friend to Dance Week – September 21-25

Please let the front desk know when signing up.

Dance WV Fall Festival – October 16-18

Dance WV Fall Festival will be held October 16–18 at Cedar Lakes Conference Center in Ripley, WV. All dancers ages 9+ are encouraged to attend!

This is truly a special festival and gives dancers the chance to have a sleep-away camp experience. Our group will share a cabin, giving dancers (and parents!) time to bond, play games, and create memories.

Dancers will have three days of classes, with opportunities to win scholarships to colleges and universities, summer programs, and next year’s festival. Fees are all-inclusive and cover meals, lodging, and classes — and there are even special classes for chaperones!

Fees are $230 for dancers (including a festival T-shirt) and $175 for chaperones. Students wishing to audition for summer intensives will pay an additional $25 audition fee.

Students will be excused from school on Friday to travel to the festival. A letter from Dance WV will be supplied to all students to turn in to their school.

The deadline to register for the festival is September 18. If you are interested or have any questions, let Miss Kat know immediately.

NYC Trip – November 22

Since last year’s trip was so much fun, we’ve arranged another trip to the Big Apple to see the Radio City Rockettes Christmas Spectacular at Radio City Music Hall!

On Sunday, November 22, we will leave around 6 a.m. on a charter bus to NYC. You’ll have time to explore the city before our 5 p.m. show. We will leave immediately after the performance concludes.

Tickets are $225 per person, including transportation and your performance ticket. Sign-ups begin in October.

TPDC Nutcracker – December 16-19

Turning Pointe Dance Company is gearing up for its December production of Nutcracker Reimagined!

Any dancer who is enrolled in a ballet class at RNM is eligible to participate — including Creative Dance and PreBallet/Tap students. Dancer sign-up sheets, the rehearsal schedule, and full information packets will be available soon.

Show week is December 16–19 at Shepherd University.

As always, TPDC shows are not required — they’re simply extra opportunities to see your dancer on stage! TPDC supplies costumes, so there is no additional cost to parents outside of tickets.
