Turning Pointe Dance Company (TPDC) is the pre-professional youth ballet company of Rhythm n’ Motion Dance Studio. Established in 2011 as a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, TPDC was created to educate dancers and enrich the community through the art of classical dance and live performance.
Our company gives dedicated dancers the chance to experience the discipline, artistry, and teamwork involved in full-length productions while growing as performers, leaders, and young artists. Through rehearsals, performances, outreach, and festival participation, students gain valuable training both on and off the stage.
Showcase your artistry
TPDC proudly presents two full-length productions each year — one during the holiday season and one in the spring — giving dancers meaningful opportunities to perform in professionally staged productions. Past productions have included beloved classics and creative adaptations such as:
- Cinderella
- Sleeping Beauty
- Swan Lake
- Alice in Wonderland
- Wizard of Oz
- Peter Pan
- Sleepy Hollow
- The Nutcracker: Clara’s Candy Land Adventure
All ballet students of every age and level at Rhythm n’ Motion are invited (but not required) to participate in TPDC productions at no additional cost. We believe every dancer deserves the opportunity to experience the magic of the stage.
Train a level above the rest
TPDC dancers are intermediate and advanced ballet students from Rhythm n’ Motion who are passionate about pursuing dance at a higher level. Company members commit to rigorous training that helps prepare them for future dance opportunities while building discipline, confidence, and leadership skills.
Company dancers:
- Must be enrolled in Ballet, Jazz, and Modern classes
- Must attend a minimum of 7.5 hours of dance classes per week
- Must maintain at least a 3.0 GPA
- Must attend festivals and required events
- Must maintain good attendance at the studio
- Must be present at all required Friday and Saturday rehearsals
Many dancers train well beyond the minimum requirements as they continue to develop their artistry and technique.
A community effort
One of the things that makes TPDC special is the incredible support of our dance families, volunteers, and community. From costume creation and set design to backstage coordination and production support, it truly takes a village to bring our performances to life.
